Content Management solutions using simple administration forms
to control a database allows a website to have its content
easily changed by staff who have no knowledge of html but
who can amend an online form.
Generally these sites can be easily maintained
via user interfaces that allow staff with little or no web
design skills to maintain and keep the site up to date. Really
useful for large sites with content that requires regular
updates.
We have two options available, browser based
forms and database forms.
Browser Based Content Management systems
are those that interface with the data via online forms and
the changes are made to the website instantaneously. Ideal
for rapidly changing sites that need to keep its pages up
the minute.
example 1: MHS
Web Solutions (online information and patient interface)
Database Forms Content Management systems
are those that interface directly with the database forms
offline on the client PC. Changes must be subsequently uploaded
to the server for the alterations to take effect online. Ideal
for product websites, which do not change as regularly as
information sites, for example wholesale changes to product
prices can be worked on offline over a period so that the
launch of the new prices can be altered at one time.
example 2: Thistle
Chemicals (online product database)
